Hello, I am Sophie
I work as a project manager. Parent. An expat living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Some years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn't envisioned as part of the long run. Like many relocation stories, it started with a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The early months were challenging — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Zephyr Frost Thicket
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that void — practical advice drawn from real life in Netherlands.
